
JACKSON MAN SENTENCED
FOR POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON
Jackson, Miss – Quintarius Carter, 23, of Jackson, was sentenced in U.S. District Court today to serve 78 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis announced today. Carter was also ordered to pay a $1,500.00 fine.
On September 17, 2011, Carter attempted the armed robbery of a woman at an ATM machine near Regions Bank on Highway 18 in Jackson. A review of Carter’s criminal history revealed that he had been previously convicted of burglary, which is a felony.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Jackson Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst prosecuted the case.
